European Market Expansion: flydubai Introduces Double Daily Flights to Milan Bergamo from July

DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight offerings to Italy to accommodate the rising flow of international travelers. Official statements from Emirates News Agency confirm that flydubai is expanding its operations in Italy with additional flight frequencies connecting key commercial hubs. Starting from the schedule effective July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double-daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo, while also strengthening its presence in Naples with daily round-trip services.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This expansion broadens the airline’s overall operational footprint in Italy, which already includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and twice-weekly seasonal services to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, operating until the end of August. Alongside increased flight frequencies, flydubai outlined operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Because of planned maintenance at Naples International Airport, the airline will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport from November 1 to November 30, 2026. Flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026, with existing bookings automatically transferred to the Salerno route during the transition period.

Codeshare Collaboration Enhances Connectivity at Dubai Hub

The extended routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples are maintained through the established codeshare partnership between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This partnership enables passengers to benefit from integrated travel itineraries, single-ticket purchasing options, synchronized schedules, and through-checked baggage across both airlines. By leveraging this joint network through Dubai’s central aviation hub, travelers arriving from Italian airports gain seamless access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct routes to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity growth aligns with broader trends in commercial aviation across the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers have steadily increased in the post-pandemic recovery phase. The rise in flight frequencies supports growing bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism exchanges between the UAE and Italy. The additional double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo offer more capacity for business travelers heading to Italy’s key financial and industrial centers, while daily flights to southern Italy accommodate the rising seasonal demand from tourists visiting iconic cultural sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, commented on the network expansion, stating that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European route network. He emphasized that the focus remains on maintaining consistent regional access for travelers while long-term commitments to enhancing connectivity to underserved markets are upheld. Al Ghaith also pointed out that market data indicates flydubai is strengthening its Italy operations through strategic increases in flight frequency, especially as passenger traffic between the UAE and Italy accelerates into the winter travel season.

Major Airports Serve as Direct Access Points for Travelers

Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, highlighted that expanding direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo underscores the Italian market’s strategic significance. Efendi noted that non-stop routes allow international travelers to utilize the combined reach of flydubai and Emirates for seamless access to popular global destinations through Dubai. The airline’s commercial leadership confirmed that their fleet and operational teams are prepared for the increased daily flight operations, ensuring high reliability for both passenger and cargo services.

These operational enhancements in Italy reflect flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and international network development efforts. As the airline takes delivery of newer narrow-body aircraft, plans include further frequency upgrades on high-demand European routes. The expanded Italian schedule reinforces Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movement between Europe and expanding markets across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
